Description–
Performing detailed reviews of customer specifications, providing comments, clarifications and
alternatives to customer requirements.
• Sizing and selection of valves, actuators and preparing techno-commercial quotations as per
customer’s technical requirements.
• Coordinating with client and internal departments as required, in order to minimize technical and
cost risk.
• Sending quotations accurately and on-time, including all technical and commercial, terms and
conditions, customer documentation requests.
• Participating in the customer negotiation process, including commercial and technical
negotiations.
• Performing PO reviews to ensure that all critical elements are correct and take up with Sales
engineer and/or customer in case of any discrepancies, and get PO amendment if required.
• Creating the order transfer file for submission to the factory in accordance with PO.
• Supporting factory for any post order activities.

Description–
a. Design and Development
• Design and develop Globe/Angle/ Butterfly control valve body, end connections & trim
parts (contour & anti-cavitation multistage) as per ASME B16.34 / IBR/ API standard up to
2500 # pressure class in line with ASME Y 14.5 & releasing for manufacture.
• Design of multistep, multipath trim which can take pressure drop above 100 bar with noise
control.
• Plug (Contour profile), cage guide as per characteristics.
• Calculate Trim exit flow area and velocity as per Valve CV.
• Value engineering to reduce cost of valves.
• Body thickness as per IBR/EN/ASME, bolting, Gaskets, pressure parts.
• Face to face standard globe valves considering ASME/ISA standards.
• Prepare and finalise 2D and 3D drawings for castings, housings, control valve assemblies
and components.
• Document and control revision of the drawings, retrieve old/void drawings and ensure latest
revision is available for production.
• FEA Analyzer – Conducting Finite Element Analysis on New Development Products and
reviewing them.
• CFD Analyzer – Conducting Computational Fluid Dynamic Analysis and reviewing them.
• Conduct trials, identify specific change and make final modifications in components for
routine production.
• Test and validate the produced valves.
• Design customised valves for Low Temperature and cryogenic service.
• Actuator selection & trip time.
• Develop valve sizing and selection programme as per ISA standards.
b. Contract Review
• Technical study/Review of customer specification & control valve data sheet (CVDS)
suggesting best material to suit pressure & temperature conditions (Cryogenic, NACE, Anti
surge, Steam turbine bypass etc.) Interaction with sales department about deviation from
specification.
• Metallurgy tests and other special tests requirements and preparation of ITP.
• Schematics for control valves as per trip time, Volume tank required.
c. BOM Preparation & checking
• Select Material for trim, bolting, gasket, packing as per pressure & temperature, NACE,
boiler, oil – gas & hydrocarbon, CCGT power plant application. Considering galling,
erosion.
• Generate ERP code of new parts & control valve.
• Prepare master hook up diagram (schematics) of positioner, solenoids as per logic of control
valve i.e., fail close/open/freeze, required trip time etc.
• Catalogue, code and feed new material in ERP
d. Process Engineering/Improvement
• Coordinate with customers for understanding their technical requirements and facilitating the
internal departments for developing and improving the technical documents.
• Handle product development process involving planning, design execution, development,
product/ component costing, cross-functional coordination, testing and release for production
phases.
• Troubleshoot problems occurring in control valves
• Implement new projects regarding Process Improvement.
• Conduct product related trainings.
• Prepare and co-ordinate ISO related activity in the department.
